Diagnostic value of combined use of abbreviated breast MRI and diffusion-weighted MRI in the prediction of breast cancer

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic performances abbreviated protocol (AP) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), AP combined with diffusion-weighted (DWI), and full dynamic (FDP) in differentiation breast cancers from benign diseases.
 Materials Methods: total population consisted 68 patients who underwent MRI (1.5 Tesla) between January 2016 December 2021 for evaluation suspicious findings on mammography or ultrasonography. All lesions were evaluated by 2 radiologists using AP, AP+DWI, FDP. reader sensitivity, specificity, accuracy analyzed “Chi-squared” test. inter-observer agreement (IOA) Breast Imaging Reporting Data System (BI-RADS) category assessments two readers “Kappa statistics”.
 Results: Sixty-eight 72 (31 malignant 41 benign) analyzed. sensitivity/specificity AP+DWI 1 67.7/90.2% 80.6/87.8%, respectively, 67.7/92.6% 70.9/90.2%, respectively. FDP 83.7/85.3% 80.6/90.2%. IOA BI-RADS assessment almost perfect all models (the kappa value 0.907, 0.825, 0.858 FDP, respectively).
 Conclusion: showed greater efficiency characterization tumor biology as compared +DWI. Combining DWI improved performance determination malignancy.
